We stopped off here on a bit of a whim after our original lunch plans didn’t workout. It’s a beautiful setting in the middle of Tombland. We went for the £12 lunch menu that included at main course and either a starter or dessert.
IMG_0988To start I had the pigeon salad. Juicy chinks of pigeon breast with beetroot and rocket. It was a lovely, light starter to prepare me for the burger I’d ordered
IMG_0989The triple coked chips were really the star of the show. The burger went amazingly well with the red onion marmalade and brioche bun. The 100% Swannington beef was amazing. The meat was amazingly seasoned. I’ve never tasted anything like it. The sweetness off the marmalade worked perfectly with the meat, the chips and the greenery. A thoroughly enjoyable meal accompanied by a gorgeous glass of Tempranillo.
