On September 24th at the Norwich Puppet Theatre there will be a very special showing of The Lost World (1925) with a completely new score written by Norwich’s very own The Shadow Committee.
The Lost World is a 1925 silent film based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s book of the same name. It follows a group of explorers as they head to the lost world in search of dinosaurs.
Take a look at the trailer below…
Joshua Rayman, the man behind The Shadow Committee and the new score, says: “I chose The Lost World because it’s a silent film that is still watchable today. It has an intriguing storyline and the stop-motion animation was very impressive for the time.”
With a fresh, contemporary score, the film is set to bring people into a world of silent film they never knew existed. The score features guitars, pianos and synths, all of which are brought together by heavy bass and drums.
The screening of the film with its brand new soundtrack will take place at 6:30pm on September 24th at the Puppet Theatre in Norwich. Tickets can be bought online from the UEA Box Office or by phone from The Puppet Theatre on 01603 629921. Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the door.
Along with the live scoring of The Lost World by The Shadow Committee, there will also be performances from Collider, Deers and Tortoise Family Connections.
The Shadow Committee is a solo instrumental rock project formed by Joshua Rayman in 2009. To celebrate its successes since then, The Shadow Committee has just released a limited edition 7” vinyl and is touring throughout September. For a full list of dates please visit: theshadowcommittee.net
