Norfolk music festivalsThis county is a wonderful place for the arts. There are Norfolk music festivals, travelling theater groups, art shows and so much more. I thought I’d put together  list of music festivals in our fine county (and one big one from Suffolk).

Norfolk and Norwich Festival

This is a true festival of the arts. There’s so much to see and do but the music is a true pleasure. It usually takes place in May and over the course of the event you can go to small, intimate gigs from artists around the world, or you can take part in huge musical extravaganzas.

Play Fest

This three-day music festival took place over the Jubilee weekend in 2012 with Feeder headlining. No details have been released yet for Play Fest 2013 but it’s bound to be a weekend of great indie and dance music.

Glade Festival

This takes place at Houghton Hall in Kings Lynn and preparations are underway for 2013. It’s an alternative dance music fesitval that takes place in some beautiful countryside.

Wow Music Festival

This folk, roots, blues and country festival proved very popular these last two years. There’s no details yet for 2013 dates but keep an eye on the website. The festival takes place in late June.

Although this is in Suffolk, it’s worth mentioning as it’s one of the biggest music festivals in the area. It takes places in July and last year hosted bands such as Bon Iver, Elbow, Laura Marling and Paul Weller.

White Noise Festival

This festival combines a love for Volkswagens with amazing music. Taking place 16-18th August 2013 at the Norfolk Showground, it’s a great festival for all the family.

Reepham Festival

Last year Limehouse Lizzy rocked this festival and no doubt 2013 will be just as fantastic. There are bands and plenty of other attractions to keep you entertained. Look out for August 2013 dates.

Sundown Festival

Last year, big names like Olly Murs, Katy B and Chase and Statud graced the stages at the Norfolk Showground for the Sundown Festival. It took place over two days and drew huge crowds. Expect more of the same in 2013. This is one of the biggest Norfolk music festivals.
