It’s situated in Riverside Dental Practice, which was a bit confusing at first. I walked in hoping I was in the right place. Thankfully I was. Mel, owner of Art of Skincare, came out to fetch me and took me into a lovely little treatment room.
I was there for a back massage and mentioned that I’d been having a bit of trouble with my lower back Mel said she’d be happy to concentrate on that area.
The massage was wonderful. Warm oil was used, which was lovely, I’ve never had that before. It relaxed me instantly (along with the lavender oil that was around the face-hole in the bed).
As I’m not a stranger to massages, I know what I like and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Mel’s massage style is very firm. I’d much prefer this sort of style — one that really works my muscles — to something that feels a bit half-hearted like it’s not really doing anything.
My lower back felt much better after the massage and a load of knots had been worked out of my shoulders. I was relaxed and my muscles were happy. A lovely place, great massage and the perfect location for a spot of shopping afterwards.
My 30 minute back massage would’ve cost £25. There’s plenty of other treatments on offer too. Reflexology, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing and much more.
