I grew up in the village of Mundesley in North Norfolk, it truly is one of my favourite places in the world. It’s changed a lot in the past few years and now that I live in Norwich, I’m not getting to experience as much of it as I once did.
I popped up at the weekend to visit my mum and step-dad, they suggested we head out to lunch at The Corner House Cafe. It took me a while to work out where it was because the last I knew it was a house!
It is everything I could want in a cafe. I love the chintzy mis-matched interior and it had a menu full of tea and coffee. The food on offer wasn’t bad too. I opted for a pot of tea, shared with my other half, and a panini (second choice to a pork and apple sandwich but they were out of pork).
It was the hottest day of the year so far and this was the perfect place to watch people head down to the new lifeboat’s naming ceremony on the sea front.
My step-dad had a coronation chicken jacket potato. It looked like one of the most wonderful spuds I’ve ever seen. I’ll be making a trip back to this cafe soon to get my hands on one with cheese and beans. (And to sample some cake.)
The cafe is also full of little knicknacks that are for sale. All from local sellers like the amazing clothes shop Jupe. I love this ethos, small businesses should support other local businesses. This cafe seems to have done that from the get go and that’s amazing. This is a great cafe for those who want a quick drink and a bite to eat before heading down to the beach! (I have been advised that there will be beach weather soon in Mundesley…)

That’s opposite Spar and more-or-less between The Haig and The Manor (because us Mundesley folk give directions by pub…)
