We’ve written about Cinema City before and my colleague Ali has previously eaten there. I’ve heard amazing things about it so decided to pop in for a bite to eat. The first trip there was a little unsuccessful but I was soon back to try one of the burgers I’d heard so much about.

I started the lunch with a glass off red wine, which felt like the perfect accompaniment to a burger. I went for a simple beef burger with red onion chutney. It came with hand cut chips, which were amazing. I wish I’d had a little more on my burger as without any cheese it was a little dry. A problem my boyfriend wasn’t having as he wolfed down his mozzarella and bacon burger.

IMG_0998The burgers come with an amazing relish (which I used for my chips) and there’s an amazing mustard mayo on the bun. This made the burger for me. A little bit of juiciness with the tang of wholegrain mustard. A great combo.

IMG_1000I had to go for dessert when I saw strawberry meringue on the menu. Soft, sweet strawberries on a crunchy-chewy meringue accompanied by strawberry purée and strawberry ice cream. It was a decadent dessert that didn’t really go with my wine but was thoroughly enjoyed nonetheless.

IMG_0995I’d definitely recommend sitting in the courtyard if you visit The Dining Rooms Norwich because it’s a beautiful setting. The covered outdoor seating does mean that you don’t have to rush indoors if it does start to rain.
